There’s no doubt that the coronavirus (COVID-19) is creating challenges for all of us, both personally and professionally. First and foremost, we hope that you and your family are remaining safe and healthy. We are writing to keep you informed of the steps we are taking to continue offering you the very best in legal services while providing you and our associates a safe environment. Our commitment to our clients has not changed.
The various courts in which we practice have implemented procedures for hearings and trials. We are keeping informed of all the changes and instructing our clients accordingly.
Our law office stands ready to continue to be able to serve your needs without any disruption other than changes in procedures as mandated by the Courts, perhaps serving you in different ways, but aiming to achieve your goals just the same as ever. We will continue to be able to negotiate your domestic relations and child-related matters, as well as write motions, agreements, and proposed orders. We can still draft Wills and other estate planning documents, as well as cohabitation agreements and premarital agreements. We will be able to file documents with the various Clerks of Court, either electronically in Summit County or by U.S. Mail for Stark County.
We welcome telephone appointments, rather than in-person meetings, during this period. Our office does remain open during regular hours. We always keep our office clean and disinfected, and we have increased both the frequency and scope of these cleanings in accordance with CDC recommendations to help ensure both our clients and staff are kept safe. As always, we provide options for hand cleaning for clients and associates, and we work closely with our teams to ensure that anyone who is not feeling well understands that we recommend them staying home.
In order to help us continue to serve clients, we ask that clients who have recently traveled to a high-risk country, had any exposure to symptomatic or confirmed positive cases, or been confirmed positive themselves not come to our office. Even if none of these categories applies to you, we ask that you always have an arranged time to visit our office even to drop off documents, and that you not bring children, parents, or other adults with you to your appointment. We take our commitment to ensure our community’s safety very seriously.
Please rest assured that your legal team is monitoring the situation closely and that we will continue to consult and seek input from internal and external experts to provide the best guidance and advice for you, our valued clients. We appreciate the trust you have placed in us. While the situation with COVID-19 evolves and you work through your own plans, we assure you we can continue to meet your needs in a secure and reliable manner.
If you have any questions or if there’s anything we can do to help, don’t hesitate to reach out. Our team is fully operational and here to support you however we can. I will personally keep you updated on our team’s status, and I know we will get through this together.
To your health and success,
Melissa Graham-Hurd & Associates, LLC
